sign: 60. 2nd Monthly Fitness Post from Housel Fun & Fitness

It's April already! So to keep the tradition going we have a quick blurb from Mark Housel of Housel Fitness

The current exercise recommendation for children is 60 minutes of moderate to vigorous physical activity per day.

So what does that mean?

If your kids come in from playing and their heart rate and body temperature are up, and they are breathing heavy ... it is a pretty good bet that they have been involved in moderate to vigorous intensity exercise.
Remember that the 60 minutes does not have to be done all at one time.  Lastly, kids these days lead busier lives than we ever did.  PLAY isn’t something that should be another chore or job for them.  Try to help your child find physical activity that is fun and meaningful to them!

  1. It always amazes me that FITNESS is a multi-billion dollar industry... Yet a solid, concise and universal definition of fitness is hard to nail down. Just ask someone participating in a physical fitness program, or even someone in the fitness industry for that matter, to give you a clear definition of fitness.
